These garlic butter bacon cheeseburgers are a meal choice if you're looking for something other than a basic cheeseburger. Four beef burgers with bacon and cheddar cheese are served on brioche buns. I brush garlic butter over the buns and burgers. My favorite part is the texture of soft buns with bacon.

I cook the butter and garlic gently for 1 to 2 minutes or until fragrant. Take the pan off the heat to prevent browning. Add the parsley and salt now. Use fresh garlic in this recipe to minimize cooking time. Serve with hamburger buns and cooked hamburgers.
I cook bacon in a large pan or griddle and drain it on paper towels. I cook burger patties in the same pan with bacon grease over medium-high heat, leaving 1 tablespoon of grease in the pan after you remove the bacon. This helps the burgers brown nicely in the pan.
Add cheese to an assembled burger in the last minute of preparation. Serve with warm buns. Brioche buns work well with melted garlic butter and juice from the burger. Serve garlic butter bacon cheeseburgers immediately with melted cheddar cheese on the patty.
Why you'll love this recipe
- It makes four whole burgers. The buns can be toasted while the burger patties finish in the same pan.
- Bacon is prepared first. There is leftover bacon grease in the pan that can be used to cook the beef.
- The garlic butter is spread on the burger bun and heated burger patty so the layers of the sandwich are all coated with butter.
- Medium- or sharp cheddar cheese complements the bacon and garlic butter.
- Put lettuce and tomatoes on the table. Provide onion, and let people assemble burgers as they wish.
- French fries or onion rings can serve as a full meal when eaten with these burgers, eliminating the need for a separate main course.
Ingredients
- •½ cup unsalted butter
- •3 cloves garlic (minced)
- •1 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped)
- •¼ tsp salt (for the garlic butter)
- •1 ½ lb ground chuck (80/20 fat ratio)
- •8 slices thick-cut bacon
- •4 slices cheddar cheese
- •4 brioche buns
- •1 tsp salt (for the patties)
- •½ tsp black pepper
- •½ tsp garlic powder
Instructions
- 1
Melt the butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Remove from the heat, then stir in the parsley and 1/4 tsp salt.
- 2
Cook the bacon in a large skillet or on a griddle over medium heat until crispy. Move it to a paper towel-lined plate, leaving about 1 tablespoon of bacon grease in the skillet.
- 3
Gently shape the ground chuck into four equal patties about ½ inch thick. Press a slight indentation into the center of each patty, then season both sides with the salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
- 4
Heat the skillet with the bacon grease over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 3-5 minutes per side. During the last minute of cooking, place 1 slice of cheddar on each patty.
- 5
Brush the cut sides of the brioche buns with garlic butter and toast on a griddle or in a separate pan until golden. Put each cheesy patty on a bottom bun, add 2 bacon slices, brush the patty with more garlic butter, and finish with the top bun. Serve immediately.
