If you’re in need of a quick and healthy snack or activity for your kids this summer, try making these yummy orange creamsicle smoothie pops! They’re so simple to make and 100% free of artificial colors, artificial sweeteners and preservatives (unlike most “kid friendly” pops).  Kids love to help in the kitchen, so ask them to assist with making this recipe!

Note: You may need to resist the temptation to drink the entire mixture before pouring it into the plastic cups. I say this because that is what almost happened to me. It’s so delicious! Kinda reminds me of a lighter Orange Julius. Yeah, it’s scary good.

Random fact: I am not ashamed to admit that I learned to make popsicles at the age of 7 while watching a highly informative episode of Pee-Wee’s Playhouse. We all have to start somewhere.

This recipe was inspired and adapted by a recipe that I found on Meal Makeover Moms.

Looking for another pop recipe? Try these pineapple coconut cilantro pops.

  1. In a blender or smoothie maker, combine orange juice, yogurt, frozen pineapple, shredded coconut, vanilla extract and maple syrup. Mix on medium setting until smooth and fully combined.
  2. Place 12 (3 oz size) plastic cups into cupcake/muffin pan spots. Pour mixture into cups filling each about 3/4 full. Place in the freezer for 10 minutes to allow mixture to set and then remove from freezer and insert short wooden craft/popsicle sticks into the center of each cup. Place tray back into the freezer and allow pops to set for 2 hours or until completely frozen. Enjoy!
