Is there anyone in the world who doesn’t like tacos (except for my dad)?! Tacos are fun to eat and equally fun to make, especially for kids! I highly recommend trying this recipe for your family. Taco night can quickly turn into a healthy, fun, simple, and inexpensive weekly family dinner. Plus…it’s a really great way to encourage your kids to try new foods…especially veggies!
Suggested garnishes: sesame seeds (for broccoli slaw), corn salsa, sliced avocado, lettuce, shredded jack or cheddar cheese, ranch dressing, cilantro, fresh lime juice

- In a large mixing bowl, combine the first 9 ingredients. Stir until thoroughly combined. Transfer to a serving bowl and garnish with sesame seeds. Cover and refrigerate.
- Heat 1 T of canola oil in a large non-stick skillet on medium/high heat. Add ground turkey and cook until turkey is fully opaque white/tan in color, frequently turning with a spatula. You may need to add water (1/2 – 1 cup) to keep the meat moist as it cooks.
- Add the garlic powder, salt, pepper and BBQ sauce. Stir to combine.
- Fill taco shells with cooked turkey and top with broccoli slaw, lettuce, shredded cheese, avocado, and/or any of your other favorite garnishes!
