Finding a decent breakfast cereal for kids can be hard work. Most large supermarkets literally have hundreds of cereals to choose from, but how do you know which cereals are best? A good rule that I learned when I worked at the OWL Program at Boston Children’s Hospital is to look on the nutrition facts label for cereals with at least 3 grams or more of fiber per serving and 8 grams or less of sugar. School aged kids usually have fun searching labels for cereals that fit this rule. Next time you’re in the supermarket, ask your kids to help you find some tasty and healthy cereals.
