Since it has been 90 degrees nearly everyday for the past 2 weeks, frozen treats have been on my mind a lot lately. I love ice cream and popsicles, but I wanted a smaller, more bite sized frozen treat to satisfy my cravings for chocolate and peanut butter. That’s where these frozen chocolate banana bites come in. Some frozen banana bites are chocolate covered all around, but I decided to give these little bananas a chocolate peanut butter hat with some sprinkles. Either way, they are super easy to make and just the right size for a weeknight treat. Try making them with your kids!

Banana Bites

  1. Peel and slice bananas into 1 inch chunks (there should be about 10 slices per banana).
  2. In a small sauce pan, melt chocolate chips and peanut butter together over low heat, stirring frequently. Add 1 T of milk at a time to create a thinner consistency.
  3. Place banana slices on a baking sheet or dinner plate lined with parchment paper. Pour 1 teaspoon of chocolate mixture on top of each banana slice. Top with rainbow sprinkles, chopped pistachios, shredded coconut, dried cranberries, etc.
  4. Place baking sheet into the freezer for 10-15 minutes or until chocolate has set. Remove from the freezer and enjoy! Note: Bananas tend to get brown if left in the freezer for too long.

Note: Nutrition Facts are calculated without the addition of sprinkles or other toppings of choice.
