One of my favorite treats growing up was a Slush Puppie. After ice skating practice I would guzzle down a grape Slush Puppie like it was nobody’s business. I haven’t had a Slush Puppie in years (which is probably a good thing) and I was craving a simple and healthy slushie treat to enjoy in this hot weather. And that is how this recipe was created. This recipe is a great for kids because it has no added sugar and is still slushie and fun to drink with a straw. You can use pretty much any fresh frozen fruit and any flavor of seltzer and it works great. So far mango and strawberry are my favorites but here are some other great combos…

  • Pineapple/Coconut/Cilantro
  • Strawberry/Basil/Watermelon
  • Cantaloupe/Cucumber/Mint

  1. Combine frozen fruit (of choice) and seltzer in blender. Mix for 30 seconds or until completely smooth. 

Extras: fresh lemon juice, lime juice, cilantro, honey, agave, fresh basil, mint, etc.
